The Gulf

Inlets and coves

The lovely Gulf of Fethiye, its broad bay dotted with small islands and furrowed by inlets and coves, is one of the most impressive stretches of coastline in Turkey, its attractions greatly enhanced by lush, wooded mountain slopes which sweep down to the shore.

The Bay Of Fethiye provides a natural port and harbor and is an important stop for yachtsmen from all over the world. Fethiye's magnificent mountains, some snow covered in winter months, and forests are mostly undeveloped and are wonderful natural preserves for an extraordinary variety of flora and fauna.

The Town

Fethiye

The town of Fethiye, which overlooks an attractive Bay, is an ancient place crowned by the ruins of a fortress built by the Knights of Rhodes, and in the steep cliffs surrounding it ancient Lycian tombs are carved out of the rock face.

Dalaman International airport serves Fethiye and is only 50 kilometers from the town centre. A typical car journey will take approx. 40 minutes. As well as the scheduled Turkish Airline flights, there are numerous charter flights from many European cities to Dalaman during the tourist season.
