Airports
Dalaman International airport serves Fethiye and is only 40 kilometers from the town centre. A typical car journey will take approx. 40 minutes. As well as the scheduled Turkish Airline flights, there are numerous charter flights from many UK airports, (including Easijet, Thompsons), and European cities to Dalaman during the tourist season.
Fethiye can also be reached via a 3 hour drive from Antalya Airport. We can also make arrangements for parties to be met ( and returned) to Dalaman airport and driven straight to the villas -please contact us for more details about this service. It is also possible to hire a taxi at the airport which can be used to go to the villas or to a car hire agency near the airport should you wish to hire your own car for the holiday period.
Arriving in the country
You have to pay £10 for your visa when you arrive in Turkey, this is a little sticker they put in your passport. When you leave, the sticker will be stamped at passport control. Try to have a £10 pound note as change is not always given. Also try to remember to have either a pound coin or a one euro piece as these are required to unlock trolleys at the airport in Dalaman.
Car hire
If you hire a car there are many places to visit less than one hour away. Remember to get a car with air/con as it it very hot in the summer months. As well as the agents at the aiport,there are a number of car hire agencies in town e.g fethiyerentacar.com.
Driving in Turkey is on the right hand side of the road and is relatively straightforward. Once outside of Fethiye the roads are generally quiet and there are plenty of petrol stations. Have some cash as they do not all take credit cards.
Public transport
There are a number of yellow taxi stands around the town centre in Fethiye and there are Dolmus buses running from the main road near to the villa to Fethiye or Celis beach every couple of minutes.
The weather
Mediterranean climate, which is hot and dry during summers and warm and rainy during short winter, is dominant in the region. The temperature, which is approximately 30 degrees during summer months, is generally over 10 degrees during winter. Sea water temperature never decreases under 18 degrees during each season.
